Vuohensalo Lighthouse stands at the end of a curved 150-metre breakwater built from dressed granite blocks. The mole forms a sheltered harbour in Motornaya Bay and protects it from the powerful waves of Lake Ladoga.

The approximately 12-metre navigation light appeared here in the late 1930s, when the area was part of Finland. It guided small fishing boats back into the harbour. A Soviet fishing cooperative later operated nearby, while the light continued its navigational role.

Its name comes from the former Finnish village of Vuohensalo and is commonly translated as “Goat Wilderness”. The light remains active today. The granite mole can be slippery after rain and during rough weather, so visitors should approach only in safe conditions and follow local access rules.
