Around Mount Krestovaya: A Trail Above the Valleys

Route at a glance

The lower section offers a gradual start before woodland gives way to more open terrain. The character of the area is especially clear in wooded lower slopes, mountain meadows and rocky ground. Particular attention should be given to Krestovaia Mount and Caucasus Mountains. These are the places that give the route its recognisable character.

Getting there

Without a car

Travel first to Tbilisi, then continue by intercity coach or minibus to the nearest district centre. A local taxi or pre-arranged transfer is usually required for the trailhead near the trailhead.

By car

From Tbilisi, follow the main national road towards the relevant region, then use the local access road. Check mountain roads for seasonal restrictions and post-rain conditions.

Parking

Leave the car at a guesthouse, visitor centre or signed area in the last settlement.
