Route at a glance

Open wetland alternates with wooded islands and drier ridges. The character of the area is especially clear in open wetlands, pine-covered islands and boardwalk sections. The main line of the experience is formed by Augustów Forest and Augustów Canal. They are spaced through the journey so that the area reveals itself gradually.

Travel by train to Białystok or Augustów, then continue by regional bus to the start near the trailhead. When travelling with a bicycle, check carriage rules and capacity in advance. Difficult sections and safety

The route includes sustained climbs and descents, so pace yourself and avoid starting too quickly. The route requires energy for the second half, so identify rest points in advance and avoid a late start. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey before setting out.
