Route at a glance

The lower section offers a gradual start before woodland gives way to more open terrain. Along the way, wooded lower slopes, mountain meadows and rocky ground are revealed one section at a time. The route passes Tatzlwurm-Runde, Al'piiskii, Innsbruck and North Tyrol. Together they turn the walk into a coherent introduction to the area rather than a simple transfer.

Getting there

Without a car

Travel by train to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, then continue by regional rail or bus into the relevant valley. From the nearest stop, approach the trailhead on foot or by cable car.

By car

The main approach follows the A12 through the Inn Valley, then local roads to the relevant village or cable car. In winter and after snowfall, check vehicle-equipment requirements.

Parking

Use an official car park at a station, cable car, visitor centre or signed trailhead. Do not park on private farm roads.
