Travel by train to Interlaken Ost, then continue on the local railway to Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald or Wengen, depending on the trailhead. The final approach to the trailhead is by train, bus, cable car or on foot. Drive on the A8 to Interlaken, then use the valley roads to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. Wengen and several high-mountain villages are not open to normal private traffic.
