A pre-booked taxi or transfer from Bishkek is the most practical option to the national-park entrance. Regular city transport does not always reach the trailhead near the trailhead. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.

By car

Drive from Bishkek on the Ala-Archa road or towards the relevant mountain gorge. Entrance is controlled at the gate, and protected-area rules apply beyond it. Use the official parking at the gate or alpine camp. It fills early at weekends, and roadside parking inside the gorge should not be relied upon.

Long climbs and descents can slow the pace considerably, especially on wet or rocky ground. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey before setting out. Download an offline map and tell someone when you expect to return.
