Подготовка к маршруту

Route at a glance

The shoreline continually changes perspective, moving between sheltered sections and exposed headlands. Along the way, coastal paths, exposed headlands and sheltered bays are revealed one section at a time. The route passes Teide National Park, Tenerife and Las Cañadas Caldera. Together they turn the walk into a coherent introduction to the area rather than a simple transfer.

Getting there

Without a car
TITSA buses reach Teide National Park from Puerto de la Cruz and the southern resorts, but services are limited. Check the nearest stop for the trailhead and the last return bus; an early transfer is often more practical. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.
By car
Drive up via the TF-21, TF-24 or TF-38, depending on the side of the island. Check for weather, wildfire and road-work restrictions before travelling. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.
Parking
Use official parking at the cable car, Parador, El Portillo or signed viewpoints. Do not park on the roadside outside marked bays.

What to expect

Las Cañadas Caldera

Difficult sections and safety

The main difficulty depends on trail conditions: after rain the surface may become slippery and the usual pace may slow. The route requires energy for the second half, so identify rest points in advance and avoid a late start. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey before setting out.

How much time to allow
