Route at a glance

The lower section offers a gradual start before woodland gives way to more open terrain. The setting is shaped by a combination of wooded lower slopes, mountain meadows and rocky ground. The main landmarks are Crimean Mountains, Korov'ia and Ai-Petri. Each deserves a short pause for both the details and the wider setting.

Getting there

Without a car

Travel to Simferopol by train or intercity coach, then continue by trolleybus or bus to Yalta, Alushta, Angarsky Pass or the nearest settlement. A local taxi may be needed for the trailhead near the trailhead.

By car

The main approach uses the A-291 Tavrida highway and the Simferopol–Alushta–Yalta road, followed by local mountain roads. Plateaus, ranger posts and protected areas have vehicle restrictions.

Parking

Leave the car in official parking at a pass, visitor attraction, cable car or nearby settlement. Keep forestry barriers clear.

Long climbs and descents can slow the pace considerably, especially on wet or rocky ground. Download an offline map and tell someone when you expect to return.
