Travel from Irkutsk by bus or minibus to Listvyanka or Bolshoye Goloustnoye. For a point-to-point section near the trailhead, check the return bus from the finish or arrange a boat transfer. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.
By car
Use the Baikal Highway for Listvyanka and the Goloustnoye road for Bolshoye Goloustnoye. There may be no through road between remote sections of shoreline. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.
Parking
Park at the bus station, visitor facilities or an official area in Listvyanka or Bolshoye Goloustnoye. Do not park on narrow shoreline roads.

Difficult sections and safety

Long climbs and descents can slow the pace considerably, especially on wet or rocky ground. The route requires energy for the second half, so identify rest points in advance and avoid a late start. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey before setting out.
