Buses and minibuses run from Irkutsk via Bayanday and Yelantsy to Sakhyurta and Khuzhir; the Olkhon crossing is seasonal. Pre-book a local transfer for the trailhead near the trailhead. Drive via the Kachug road, then through Bayanday and Yelantsy to the ferry at Sakhyurta. Olkhon’s gravel roads require care, and off-road driving is prohibited.
