Getting there

Without a car
Reach Abakan or Minusinsk by train or air, then take an intercity bus towards Kyzyl. Alight at the Ergaki visitor centre, a tourist base or the stop nearest the trailhead; check the return service in advance.
By car
Drive on the R-257 Yenisey highway between Abakan and Kyzyl. Turn off only to official lodges, visitor centres and nature-park parking areas.
Parking
Use parking at the visitor centre, Tushkanchik base or another official entrance. Do not park on the R-257 carriageway or on soft wet ground.

The main difficulty depends on trail conditions: after rain the surface may become slippery and the usual pace may slow. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey before setting out.
