Difficult sections and safety

On public roads, allow for vehicle traffic, crosswinds, and potentially long gaps between convenient stopping places. Check the brakes and lights, carry enough water, and plan rest points in advance. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey in advance. Low-lying sections may be waterlogged in spring and after prolonged rain.
