Open wetland alternates with wooded islands and drier ridges. The setting is shaped by a combination of open wetlands, pine-covered islands and boardwalk sections. Particular attention should be given to Gomel, Rechitsa, Bol'shoe and Poles'iu. These are the places that give the route its recognisable character.

Getting there

Without a car
Travel by train to Gomel, Rechytsa, Zhlobin or Kalinkavichy, then take a district bus to the settlement near the trailhead. For a point-to-point cycling route, check the return train in advance.
By car
The main approaches use the M5, M8 and M10, followed by district roads. Polesie gravel roads may become waterlogged after prolonged rain.
Parking
Park beside a station, local council, museum or on firm ground in a settlement. Do not park on embankments or forest access roads.

Difficult sections and safety

Headwinds can slow progress on exposed roads, while traffic requires continuous attention. Plan regular breaks and do not continue after dark without reliable lights. Low-lying sections may be waterlogged in spring and after prolonged rain.
