Route at a glance

Most of the route stays under tree cover, with clearings and old tracks regularly opening the view. The combination of mixed woodland, old forest tracks and small clearings gives the journey its variety. The route passes Polesskaia trekhsotka, Gomel and Khoiniki. Together they turn the walk into a coherent introduction to the area rather than a simple transfer.

Getting there

Without a car
Travel by train to Gomel, Rechytsa, Zhlobin or Kalinkavichy, then take a district bus to the settlement near the trailhead. For a point-to-point cycling route, check the return train in advance.
By car
The main approaches use the M5, M8 and M10, followed by district roads. Polesie gravel roads may become waterlogged after prolonged rain.
Parking
Park beside a station, local council, museum or on firm ground in a settlement. Do not park on embankments or forest access roads.
