Route at a glance

The path follows the river valley, sometimes close to the water and sometimes on higher banks. An unhurried pace leaves time to notice floodplain paths, green riverbanks and quiet country lanes rather than focusing only on the finish. The route passes Stolbtsy, To Nemanu and Nesvizhu. Together they turn the walk into a coherent introduction to the area rather than a simple transfer.

Getting there

Without a car

Travel by train to Grodno, Lida, Slonim or Smarhon, choosing the station nearest the trailhead. Continue by district bus to the settlement near the trailhead; check bicycle carriage rules in advance. Because the start and finish are in different places, check the return service in advance, arrange a transfer or leave a second vehicle near the finish.

By car

Use the M6, M11, P5, P11 or P44, depending on the district, followed by the local road to the start. Observe access rules around historic sites and border areas. On public roads, allow for vehicle traffic, crosswinds, and potentially long gaps between convenient stopping places. Check the brakes and lights, carry enough water, and plan rest points in advance. The finish is separate from the start, so arrange the return journey in advance.
