Getting there

Without a car

Travel by train or coach to Zakopane. Local buses and minibuses continue to Kuźnice, Kiry, Palenica Białczańska and other park entrances; choose the stop serving the trailhead near the trailhead.

By car

Reach Zakopane from Kraków on the DK47, then use local roads only as far as official Tatra National Park entrances. Private traffic is restricted inside the valleys.

Use official parking at Kuźnice, Kiry, Palenica Białczańska or the relevant entrance. For popular trailheads, book in advance where possible or arrive early.
