Route description

Near Romatovo, take time to meet the two Pozhezhinsky oaks separately. The King Oak stands beside the eastern woodland approach, while the Patriarch Oak belongs to the western one. Their similar names refer to different trees. Step back, study the outline of each crown and notice how a broad trunk changes the space around it. Both approaches lead towards the Romatovo area, showing the meeting of woodland and village surroundings. Walking between stops is part of the visit, so the day involves more than two brief photographs. Arrange the order of the visits and transport to each approach in advance; an unfamiliar forest shortcut is a poor substitute for an agreed plan. Someone who enjoys looking closely at trees can make a fine companion here. Instead of trying to settle their precise ages, compare their trunks and branching patterns. Two individual names and two different silhouettes make this woodland much easier to remember.

Расчётное время в пути 4 h 1 min
