Route description

In Petrovichi, a quiet village street sits beside a place with a longer history. The main stop on this walk is the Petrovichi Oak. Pause beside its trunk and look up into the crown before continuing. One individual tree gives this small settlement a memorable shape and scale. Remnants of an estate park associated with the Dzekonski family lie nearby. The palace has not survived, so come for the setting and its trees rather than expecting a complete palace ensemble. Arrange a separate park visit if you want to add it to the village outing. This option combines short approaches near Petrovichi with a stop beside the named oak. Notice the relationship between the old tree and surrounding houses, while keeping a respectful distance from private yards. It makes a pleasant modest outing once access and the return journey have been arranged.
