Link the shores of Akkem and Kucherla Lakes across Kara-Tyurek, make a separate visit to Yarlu Stone City and pause at the Kucherla Petroglyphs. This version explores both major valleys below Belukha.

Approach Akkem along the Oroktoy path through Lake Gyuldyayry, Tekelyu and Sarybel, visit Yarlu, then return across Kara-Tyurek towards the Kucherla Petroglyphs. A distinct lake-and-pass journey without the Kucherla lakeshore detour.

See the Left Shumak valley change from terraces by the springs through wooded river country to the waterfall side and open pass landscape. The Ekhe-Ger descent reveals another side of the Tunkinsky mountains. A separately planned local walk leaves time for the spring area without forcing it into a demanding crossing day.

Compare Big Buyba, Big Fishless, Svetloe, Raduzhnoe and Lazurnoe in one extensive journey. Sleeping Sayan Hair Viewpoint and the differing pass sides give the later part its own character.
