Route description

Tete d’Oreac is a small summit above Puy-Saint-Vincent, looking toward Pelvoux, the Durance valley and the mountain valley of Fournel. This short walk starts at the summit itself and heads onto its eastern slope. Pause beside the cairn before leaving: it is a good place to separate the high Ecrins peaks from the deeper valleys around the resort. Attention then shifts from the distant horizon to the slope and its path. The end remains above valley roads without its own transport exit. Prepare the summit approach and onward walking beforehand, making the small section a clear part of a complete mountain day.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map

By car
The official approach to the full circuit goes via Les Pres, Prey d’Aval and Prey d’Amont to Col de la Pousterle. It is separate from the summit; use it for the lower approach rather than assuming car access to this start.
Parking
