Route description

Maiden’s Tears is beside the old road towards Krasnaya Polyana, so the visit follows a short road approach. There is no need to enter a large mountain gorge: fine streams and a wet rock wall are close to the passage. Approach slowly and choose a viewing position clear of traffic and slippery stone. The interest is water moving across rock rather than obligatory swimming. Return afterwards to the agreed drop-off point. The similarly named waterfall on the road to Ritsa in Abkhazia is a different place.
