Route description

The road heads west from Nemnovo Lock through Sonichi and Rynkovtsy towards Lesnaya. The Museum of Augustów Canal History stands beside the departure: view its building from outside and arrange exhibition admission separately. Further on, the canal and Czarna Hańcza accompany rural passages that reveal the contrast between an engineered waterway and a natural river. This expanded Augustów Way repeats passages and ends in Lesnaya. It does not continue across the border to Rudawka or approach Dombrovka’s lock chamber directly. Arrange the return from Lesnaya beforehand. Follow current border-district restrictions and avoid old directions towards the closed international crossing.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No By bike - Yes With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data Repeated passages extend the day. Children need rural-road riding skills and a prearranged ending. The complete one-way version is unsuitable for a stroller.

Nearby

Dombrovka Lock and its keeper’s house need a separate departure from this passage. The Nemnovo exhibition has independent admission arrangements. Volkushek and Kurzyniec locks and Polish Rudawka stand outside this version; the Rudawka–Lesnaya crossing is currently closed.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The official portal lists a Grodno bus approach through Sonichi bus stop. It does not confirm a direct service to the Nemnovo departure or a return from the exact Lesnaya ending. Check current timetables, bicycle carriage and the additional approach.
By car
Agree a Nemnovo drop-off and Lesnaya collection on the Belarusian side. A car left beside the lock requires a separate return. Do not plan to drive this version through the Polish border.
Parking
Official parking beside the exact departure is unconfirmed. Establish an authorised Nemnovo space and the permitted absence period. Keep lock infrastructure and museum approaches clear unless authorised otherwise.
