Route description

Brebeneskul Lake makes an unhurried mountain conclusion. Its water lies in a basin among high slopes, inviting a pause that respects the shore. The approach begins beside Hoverla River and passes small Medvedytsia Lake higher up. Comparing the two water bodies gives this Chornohora side a distinct character before reaching Brebeneskul. The destination is the lake, rather than the mountain of the same name. Climbing Brebeneskul summit needs another plan. Decide return and safe stopping places beforehand. The reserve asks visitors to avoid swimming and shore fires. Preserve the encounter through observation and photographs without changing the fragile mountain basin.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 14 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Give the lake approach and return a full day and start early. Plan the Medvedytsia and Brebeneskul pauses against remaining daylight. An overnight stay needs a separately agreed location; neighbouring summit timings do not describe this lake programme.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose snow-free conditions after checking the upper terrain. The lake remains frozen for a long season, so warmth below does not establish a summer outing above. Safe return takes priority in rain or mist.
