Route description

The East Carpathian Tourist Trail explores several different mountain regions of Ukraine. Its northern section belongs to the Torun area and Gorgany, with Moloda as a particular summit along the corridor. The journey then changes character, crossing neighbouring ridges and inhabited valleys towards Kostrycha, where Chornohora is seen from another mountain range. The southeastern portion belongs to the Hryniava mountains and the Perkalaba–Yarovytsia–Shepit direction. This historical mountain connection offers a basis for choosing carefully planned individual stages. It finishes at Shepit in Ukraine beside the border; continuing into Romania is excluded. A complete present-day passage cannot be promised without separate confirmation of access and local conditions.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The complete version requires independent long mountain-journey experience and confirmation of each available stage. Start and finish are far apart; transport, resupply and border-area conditions cannot be resolved by one car alone. Dog rules and continuous reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Hoverla and Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi belong to other continuations and historical versions; visits to them are not promised here. A trip into Romania needs a separate lawful border-crossing plan. Older mountain huts and neighbouring Cheremosh valley descents cannot be treated as available without independent checks.

Getting there

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 14140 м.
SurfaceDirt 19%, Improved surface 8%, Gravel 6%, Unknown 66%.
Риски Remote long stages, mountain junctions, altered forestry roads and older markings require separate checks. A historical project does not confirm present access. Agree visiting conditions for the border-area portion beforehand; do not cross the state border along a mountain path. Check crossings and exit options for the particular stage.

Time for the route | Not established With stops | Not established A multi-day plan for the complete passage has not been established. The historical corridor and particular mountain places are identified, but a complete current plan for every stage, access arrangement, resupply and overnight stop is unconfirmed. Select separately agreed sections and assess each anew. Historical pre-war durations and hours for short summit walks do not represent this version.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry snow-free conditions and a settled forecast are preferable for selected mountain sections. The season does not confirm that the entire historical trail is open. Snow, heavy rain and fog substantially affect remote ridges; winter requires independent specialist planning.
