Route description

The hike begins on the lower Uzundzha side and gradually moves towards wooded Ai-Dimitriy. Stones and valley bends draw attention beside the river. Ternovaya Rosa offers another way to view a seasonal waterfall: even without flowing water, its ledge remains part of the canyon’s shape. The Ai-Dimitriy side adds a spring and the memorial to forester Ivan Duma. Pause there to notice the woodland area’s own history rather than watching only the mountains. The chosen variant includes returning branches, so decide the walking sequence and northern finish beforehand. An old campsite name does not establish operating accommodation. Confirm present access, crossings and collection before setting out. It makes a separate valley and woodland day without automatically continuing to Ai-Petri plateau or other Great Sevastopol Trail sectors.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1014 м.
SurfaceDirt 20%, Unknown 80%.
Риски Avoid treating a wet riverbed as a shortcut or climbing the waterfall ledge without separate assessment. Rain changes passages; dry conditions today do not guarantee them tomorrow. Choose the correct woodland branches, and carry water independently of the springs.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 5 h 42 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Reserve a separate full hiking day with an early start. Decide returning branches, the memorial pause and northern exit beforehand. Any overnight stay needs a confirmed permitted place; an old campsite name is not a booking.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry, snow-free conditions suit an ordinary passage. Ternovaya Rosa is seasonal and may have no flow; seeking water does not justify a visit after dangerous heavy rain. Snow, mist or high water call for a different plan.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Gripping mountain footwear and poles
Water, food and an exit reserve
Offline map of chosen branches and compass
Rain, sun and cold protection
