Подготовка к маршруту

Route at a glance

The route connects two railway stations, making it easy to complete without a car and without retracing the same path. A single walk combines pine forest, the reservoir waterfront and a clear historical destination. It is a good choice for a long but technically straightforward day walk close to St Petersburg.

Getting there

Without a car
Take a suburban train to Dibuny and start directly from the station. After the museum and waterfront section, continue to Tarkhovka station for the return train or local public transport. Check the timetables for both stations and note the last convenient departure. Because the route is linear, missing transport at the finish can make the return significantly more difficult.
By car
The route is inconvenient as a single-car trip because the start and finish are separate. Leave the car at one station and return by train, use two vehicles, or pre-arrange a taxi between Tarkhovka and Dibuny. A separate road reaches the museum, but its car park does not solve the logistics of completing the full linear route.
Parking
Use legal public parking near Dibuny or Tarkhovka station. The museum may have a separate parking area, but its access and capacity should be checked independently. Do not leave a vehicle on forest entrances or along the narrow museum road.

What to expect

Dibuny station and historic summer-house neighbourhoods
Pine forest and long forest tracks
Lake Glukhoye and nearby wet ground
The Lenin's Hut museum complex
The shore of the Sestroretsk Reservoir
A paved path toward Tarkhovka
Finish at Tarkhovka station

Difficult sections and safety

There are no technical obstacles, but nearly 14 km require comfortable footwear, water and sensible pacing. Unpaved roads become wet after rain, while sandy sections can slow both walkers and cyclists. Mosquitoes and ticks are common in the warm season. A mass amphibian migration takes place near the museum road in spring. Cyclists should slow down, walkers should watch the ground, and animals should not be handled unless you are taking part in an organised volunteer programme. Forest junctions can be confusing, so keep the GPX visible. Several sections have little or no lighting after dusk.

Best time to go

May to October is the most convenient period, with longer daylight and generally passable forest roads. Prolonged rain can leave deep puddles and soft ground, while ticks and mosquitoes are active in summer.
A winter walk is possible, but snow increases the duration and ice can form on paved sections and near the water. Check both the museum schedule and route conditions before every trip.

What to bring

comfortable footwear for a 14 km walk
water and food
insect repellent and tick protection
a phone with the GPX and offline map
a power bank
