Route description

The Podlaskie White Stork Trail links village roads with the wooded side of Bialowieza Forest. On this Belarusian option, Shereshevo deserves an unhurried visit. The freestanding wooden Prechistenskaya bell tower and Saint Nicholas Church offer two distinct stops in a small historic settlement. Look at the tower’s outline from the road before returning to the saddle: woodland villages and rivers still lie ahead. The Tochnitsa and Levaya Lesnaya give the journey its own river names. Between them and the later wooded sections, the surroundings change from houses to trees and back again. Consider several relaxed stages, leaving space for Shereshevo and pauses on the way towards Pererov. White Stork is the trail’s name, rather than a promise of bird sightings or a border crossing. This journey follows its Belarusian side between the Vezhnoe area and Pererov. Arrange park access, overnight stops and collection from the wooded end in advance, so the road itself can hold your attention.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No By bike - Yes With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data A sustained cycle journey with stages arranged beforehand. Children need experience riding outside towns and a separate assessment of each stage. Park rules prohibit domestic animals; continuous woodland reception is unconfirmed.

Nearby

Holy Trinity Church in Shereshevo stands on Pobedy Street and requires a separate short approach from the main road. Arrange museums and other Bialowieza Forest programmes separately through the park. The Polish section of the similarly named trail is outside this journey; any border-crossing plans need an independent current check.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The park access page lists buses and minibuses from Brest to Kamenyuki. This provides a useful area for advance arrangements, but does not serve both ends of this particular journey. Book bicycle delivery towards Vezhnoe and collection after Pererov separately; check current services and bicycle carriage.
By car
Agree vehicle access to your selected Vezhnoe starting point and collection near Pererov. The ride does not return to a parked car. Check permission before using forest roads inside the park; a village name does not authorise driving down every woodland entrance.
Parking
Confirmed parking for vehicle storage at both ends has not been found. Ask where a car may be left for the journey and how to retrieve it. Inside the park, use agreed designated places and keep forest access roads clear.
