Road to Zhirovichi: Southern route

Route at a glance

The landscape is closely tied to history and visible traces of the past. An unhurried pace leaves time to notice old streets, historic sites and surviving architectural details rather than focusing only on the finish. The main line of the experience is formed by Zhirovichi, Slonim and Zhirovichskii. They are spaced through the journey so that the area reveals itself gradually.

Getting there

Without a car

Travel by train to Grodno, Lida, Slonim or Smarhon, choosing the station nearest the trailhead. Continue by district bus to the settlement near the trailhead; check bicycle carriage rules in advance.

By car

Use the M6, M11, P5, P11 or P44, depending on the district, followed by the local road to the start. Observe access rules around historic sites and border areas.

Parking

Leave the car beside a station, castle, museum, visitor centre or in a municipal town car park.

Difficult sections and safety

On long paved sections, ride predictably and do not assume that shops will be frequent. Check the bicycle, forecast, and available daylight before departure.
