Route description

The approach to Ozeravki begins through woodland and gradually opens onto peatland. Trees thin out, the wooden boardwalk becomes the main guide, and hollows and small pools appear beside it. At Yelnya viewpoint, the walk ends on the edge of these bog pools. Pause here to observe the colours of the moss, the water and the open horizon. Birds may remain elusive, so come for the landscape itself. The reserve’s name does not mean this path reaches the shore of the much larger Yelnya Lake. Returning requires the woodland approach and boardwalk again, while remaining on the established path.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 3 м.
SurfaceDirt 100%.
Риски Wet boards can be slippery, and water beside the boardwalk requires attention throughout. Do not step onto the bog to bypass damage: turn back if a section is impassable. The reserve director described seasonal flooding and ongoing replacement of timber; older photographs do not establish today’s condition.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 52 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Complete duration for the approach, viewpoint passage and return is not established. Allow spare time for slow progress on wet boards and quiet stops. Continuing deeper into the bog needs a separately agreed plan.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose calm weather and check water levels and boardwalk condition beforehand. In the reserve director’s account, July, August and September are usually drier, which does not guarantee passage on a particular day. Flooding checks matter especially in spring and autumn.

What to bring
