Route description

Beyond Grodno’s urban architecture, this broad circuit reveals a quieter rhythm of village junctions, small churches and pauses beside water. It reaches Selivanovtsy, passes near Ozyory and returns towards Grodno through the southern outskirts. The Transfiguration Church and Lake Rybnitsa give the journey two distinct interests: rural architecture and waterside scenery. Leave space to explore individual stops and enjoy the roads between settlements as part of the trip. Grodno provides a useful base for preparation and the return; accommodation and alternatives for an early finish need planning before departure.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The start is in urban Grodno and can be reached on foot. The full circuit requires preparation for a self-supported cycling journey. Check road connections and surfaces before leaving; continuous cycle access, dog rules and signal coverage have not been verified.

Nearby

Visit Grodno’s Old Castle separately before or after the circuit: its museum brings together Stephen Báthory’s palace and Castle Hill history. The Karobchytsy visitor complex offers an arboretum, zoo and historical exhibition. Both visits have their own admission arrangements; entry is not part of the road journey.

What to expect

Places
Transfiguration Church in Selivanovtsy This Catholic church has neoclassical architecture and stands beside the village road. An exterior stop does not imply unrestricted access inside.
Lake Rybnitsa Near Ozyory the route approaches Lake Rybnitsa. Its shore offers a waterside stop; a permitted swimming area here has not been independently verified.
Swiss Valley Park This named city park lies beside the central Grodno section. It provides a place to pause the road journey for a short walk.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 66%, Improved surface 6%, Paving stones 3%, Unknown 22%.
Риски The main challenges are pacing successive days and choosing safe roads. Allow for traffic in settlements and on road sections, and check unsurfaced branches after rain. Verify current access rules before entering the northwestern border area. The circuit does not establish permission to cross the international border.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 18 h 42 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow roughly 3–5 days for a relaxed cycling trip with stops, after checking daily stages and overnight arrangements. A fast sporting ride requires different preparation. This is an editorial estimate, not an official completion time; reserve additional time for weather and the return.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a period without snow or ice, preferably from late spring to early autumn. Start early during summer heat and check country roads after persistent rain. Shorten stages as daylight decreases in autumn.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
A maintained bicycle, spare tube and repair tools.
Helmet, visible clothing and working lights.
Water and food for the next planned resupply.
