Route description

The 2026 Rakov Loop links the Minsk outskirts with villages beside the Isloch and a broad northern arc through Kholkhlovo and Gorodok. From the starting M6 side it heads towards Skirmantovo, then through the Volma surroundings to northern Ivenets. Mill ruins appear beside the road passage on the Pokuti side. Beyond the Kurduny direction come Pryalniki with its round St Nicholas Church, followed by Galimtsy, Yurzhishki and Perezheri. The first Rakov approach crosses the Isloch. Beyond Rakov the ride takes on a smaller scale. In Kievec, the mill site and old service buildings stand beside the wooden Trinity Church. After the road past Tupolshchina Cemetery comes Malaya Lyutinka: the monument at Dunin-Martsinkevich’s house site adds a literary pause to the architectural journey. The way then turns towards Sharai and Dory, where the Those Who Died Are Forever Awaited memorial stands beside the village road. The northern section leads through Derazki and Kholkhlovo towards Gorodok. Kholkhlovo’s wooden church and the Yazvinsky chapel are followed by Gorodok’s large brick mill, then a memorial stone beside the return road. The Gerdutishki side, Dubrovo and Girevichi bring the loop back to eastern Rakov. Dubrovo offers the old spirit-production buildings; Girevichi has the tavern remains. Prepare permissible connections on the M6 sections and return between the separate beginning and finishing places before an independent journey.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - Partially With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The long version suits an experienced adult cyclist carrying food, water and energy reserves. It is too demanding for an ordinary family ride; the complete version is unsuitable for children or a stroller. Current cycling admission on parts of the road layout requires confirmation; wheel or carry the bicycle on the stairs near Sharai. Dog arrangements and continuous reception are unverified. Without a car, arrange bicycle delivery and return beforehand; no ready transport plan is established.

Nearby

The Volma estate complex and its chapel stand away from this version’s immediate passage. Prepare a Dzerzhinskaya Hill approach separately too: cycling near Skirmantovo does not include the summit. The northern Ivenets section is not a tour of the historic centre’s Red and White churches. Dunin-Martsinkevich’s grave and the Zhabrovsky chapel at Tupolshchina Cemetery require a separate approach from the road. Gorodok’s former castle site, the Gerdutishki mill remains and Dubrovo’s church ruins likewise need their own visits. Allow a separate approach to historic central Rakov and its main churches. This card describes the author’s April 2026 version; its different beginning and southern connection distinguish it from the initial 2025 proposal. Services, registration and controls from the completed event are not promised to an independent traveller.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The physical Pokuti and Gorodok Hospital stops provide references for checking transport for a shortened outing. Suitable current services, bicycle-carriage conditions and departure from the finishing place are unconfirmed. Establish them before leaving, together with an early-finish option. Stops are references rather than a promise of direct transport between the beginning and finish. The brevet’s former May registration arrangements are unrelated to ordinary public transport.
By car
The beginning is beside Belorusneft No.37 fuel station; the finish is beside Belorusneft No.39 on the Minsk M6 side. Prepare them as two separate meeting places. Check permissible vehicle access to the intended side, bicycle unloading and departure after finishing beforehand. Connecting them does not mean crossing divided carriageways. Agree use of each station’s grounds and support meetings separately; a station number does not establish permission for a waiting vehicle.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. A permissible vehicle-storage place for the complete ride has not been established. Check whether the chosen area may be used, for how long and from which side to return. Fuel-pump passages and Dubrovo’s industrial yards are not traveller parking. Without an agreed place, arrange arrival and return separately.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 70%, Compacted dirt 5%, Concrete 2%, Unknown 19%.
Риски The beginning, the Sharai connection and the Minsk return include M6 sections and exits. Current signs, a permissible cycling side and safe connections are unconfirmed. Establish a separate permissible passage plan before the ride. If it cannot be confirmed, omit the affected section or finish the journey earlier. The May announcement and historical completion do not establish automatic present access. The pedestrian crossing near Sharai includes stairs: dismount and carry the bicycle when necessary. Stay alert to village junctions and opposing traffic. Pause clear of the road at monuments without blocking gates or passages. View mills, service buildings and the tavern from outside; deteriorating walls and roofs are not freely accessible interiors. Both spirit-production buildings in Dubrovo belong to private grounds, so the ride includes only a view from the street.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 18 h 34 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The author’s format was a one-day cycling brevet for prepared participants. The duration of an independent ride with sightseeing is unverified, and the former deadline is not a touring timetable. Resolve permissible road connections and the finishing meeting first, then distribute effort between the Ivenets section, Kievec and Lyutinka, the northern arc and the Dubrovo return. Food and support stops need separate confirmation. If dividing the outing, arrange accommodation and the number of days independently.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
A dry, warm period with long daylight is preferable for a first visit. Wind matters on exposed roads; rain adds time for dismounting and checking slippery approaches. In autumn, start earlier and reserve time for the return and chosen pauses. Winter suitability of the complete journey is unverified. Season and weather do not establish admission on individual M6 sections.
