Route description

Beyond the Soltonsary valley, the walk continues through several mountain saddles. Its character comes from the rhythm of successive climbs and descents: rather than one central pass, the journey gradually introduces neighbouring mountain approaches. A stop by Soltonsary gives time to prepare before leaving the valley. The far side remains part of a mountain journey, so the finish is not a ready-made rest stop. A discussion with a local guide is particularly valuable here: establish the condition of the crossings, choose an overnight place and reserve time for finding a safe continuation. In settled weather, walking reveals connections between valleys that a quick vehicle journey would miss.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Scheduled transport to the exact mountain endpoints has not been confirmed. Arrange drop-off and collection with a local host. If approaching on foot from a previous section, allow for the entire combined walk and retain a separate safe finishing plan.
By car
Discuss both endpoint locations with a local driver beforehand. Obtain a current report on the road and where vehicle access ends. A road in a neighbouring valley does not establish access to the precise walking start or finish.
Parking
No dedicated place for leaving a car throughout the trek has been verified. Arrange storage with hosts in an accessible settlement; a pasture road or riverbank is not an established parking place.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 803 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Navigation, saddle and river conditions, remote nights and changing weather are the main issues. Snow or strong flow can require a revised plan. Do not force a dangerous water crossing or an unknown slope just to keep to a schedule. Carry food and shelter regardless of possible encounters with herders.

How much time to allow

Plan | A multi-day mountain crossing As a preliminary allowance, reserve 2–3 walking days with overnight arrangements and additional weather reserve. This is an editorial estimate for this section rather than a published organiser’s schedule. Both ends belong to mountain approaches; calculate access to the drop-off and final collection separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
July and August are the main window for a prepared group after the pass and river approaches have been confirmed locally. Snow and thunderstorms are possible in summer too. September needs settled weather, warm equipment and recent exit reports; shoulder-season passage is not guaranteed.
