Route description

Song-Kol’s northern basin is a high-pasture landscape where riding changes your sense of distance and the shifting light above the lake. This plan sketches a western-to-eastern passage with a lake pause in its middle. Its interest centres on Song-Kol and open mountain surroundings, without promising a particular yurt camp. A detailed safe riding passage is unestablished. Before travel, a local guide must choose real paths, water crossings, lake access and the eastern ending. The plan differs from a standard Kyzart tour: both ends lie in the mountain region, without an included village return. Arrange horses, food, overnight places and collection separately.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 783 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски First establish the real way, permitted crossings and access to both ends. Wind, rain and cold change rapidly on open pasture, with sudden snow possible in warmer months. Ride with an experienced guide, a suitable horse and a helmet. Nearby yurt markers do not guarantee accommodation; assess the shore before leading a horse towards water.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Local operators offer ordinary summer riding roughly June–September, but the actual window depends on snow, pasture and yurt hosts. Confirm services and road access outside peak summer. A winter horse expedition requires a different plan and equipment.
