Route description

This crossing leaves the Buyga valley, passes a mountain saddle and continues towards Josholu and the edge of Gulcho. It connects two different settled directions: the eastern side begins by a familiar watercourse, while beyond the mountains are new villages and another river valley. Choose it for a gradual walking approach towards the Alay district. There is no need to rush into central Gulcho at the finish. An agreed meeting point on the eastern edge allows a considered end to the mountain section before arranging accommodation and town errands separately. Keep energy in reserve for the saddle; a recognisable destination name does not replace checking the crossing itself.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No data With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The full journey needs independent trekking experience and an agreed exit. Dog permission, bicycle passage and mobile coverage have not been checked; a familiar destination settlement does not establish scheduled services to both ends.

Nearby

Gulcho may be a separate rest stop after reaching its eastern side. Further Alay journeys need a new programme and logistics. Sary-Mogul and the high passes are not automatically part of this section’s finish.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
No scheduled service directly to the precise start and finish has been confirmed. Arrange drop-off and collection with a local host. If arriving on foot from a neighbouring section, include the approach, overnight needs and room for a changed plan.
By car
The endpoints are on different approaches, so one car at the start does not settle the logistics. Agree actual drop-off and meeting places with a driver beforehand. Check local roads and access after rain or snow immediately before travelling.
Parking
No dedicated parking place at the precise start has been established. Arrange storage with a household or hosting camp and keep village and pasture access roads clear.

What to expect

Places
Buyga Stream The starting side belongs to the upper Buyga valley approach, a particular waterside stop before leaving towards the mountain saddle.
Pass 2490m This named map saddle links the eastern approach with the onward exit towards Josholu. A customary local proper name has not been independently established.
Josholu River This river valley lies on the Gulcho exit side, helping mark the end of the pass stage and the onward direction towards town.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 488 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Check the entire passage and a safe finish on the far side. Delay mountain sections in fog or thunderstorms; strong flow or unstable banks may require a new plan. Watch for vehicles on roads and livestock and dogs near pastures. Treat drinking water and do not make overnight arrangements dependent on an invitation from strangers.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 11 h 49 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan | A multi-day walking journey As a preliminary allowance, reserve 3–4 walking days with stops and overnight arrangements, plus weather and logistical reserve. This is an editorial estimate for this itinerary rather than an organiser’s schedule. Calculate initial access and final collection separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
July and August are preferable for a prepared group after crossings and roads have been checked locally. Cold, snow and sudden weather changes remain possible on mountain sections in summer. For September, confirm shelter and exits beforehand and allow for early snow and shorter daylight.
