Route description

From Terek-Suu, the walk leaves the Tar valley and continues along the Buyga. This is the settled side of mountain Kyrgyzstan, where the river’s direction connects everyday roads and villages. Walk at a considered pace, distinguishing the watercourse from settlements sharing its name; the valley explains the onward mountain approach. Choose this section as a separate river day after Atala-Tektyu or as a prepared approach to another crossing. The finish lies beyond the main village stops, so settle supplies and shelter before the end of the walk. Respect households, pasture roads and the work of people for whom this valley is home.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No data With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The full journey needs independent trekking experience and an agreed exit. Dog permission, bicycle passage and mobile coverage have not been checked; a familiar destination settlement does not establish scheduled services to both ends.

Nearby

Atala-Tektyu belongs to the separate preceding crossing towards Terek-Suu. Reaching the Gulcho side requires another mountain stage; do not combine it with this valley day without planning shelter and reserves.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
No scheduled service directly to the precise start and finish has been confirmed. Arrange drop-off and collection with a local host. If arriving on foot from a neighbouring section, include the approach, overnight needs and room for a changed plan.
By car
The endpoints are on different approaches, so one car at the start does not settle the logistics. Agree actual drop-off and meeting places with a driver beforehand. Check local roads and access after rain or snow immediately before travelling.
Parking
No dedicated parking place at the precise start has been established. Arrange storage with a household or hosting camp and keep village and pasture access roads clear.

What to expect

Places
Tar River At Terek-Suu, the walk begins beside the Tar. It is the opening riverside stop before entering another valley; no safe swimming place or ford has been established.
Buyga Stream The named stream accompanies the settled valley and the onward mountain approach. This refers to the particular watercourse, separately from settlements sharing its name.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 628 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Check the entire passage and a safe finish on the far side. Delay mountain sections in fog or thunderstorms; strong flow or unstable banks may require a new plan. Watch for vehicles on roads and livestock and dogs near pastures. Treat drinking water and do not make overnight arrangements dependent on an invitation from strangers.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 25 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan | A multi-day walking journey As a preliminary allowance, reserve 1–2 walking days with stops and overnight arrangements, plus weather and logistical reserve. This is an editorial estimate for this itinerary rather than an organiser’s schedule. Calculate initial access and final collection separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
July and August are preferable for a prepared group after crossings and roads have been checked locally. Cold, snow and sudden weather changes remain possible on mountain sections in summer. For September, confirm shelter and exits beforehand and allow for early snow and shorter daylight.
