Route description

From Malaran, the path crosses a neighbouring mountain spur towards the Abshir-Say. This is an intimate crossing: a single saddle connects two nearby gorges, with the river returning to the scene on the descent. It reveals the shape of the northern Kichik-Alay spurs, where adjacent valleys each have their own exit. Treat the crossing as a distinct part of a longer trek. Walk it steadily, knowing the approach from Malaran and the onward Abshir-Say direction in advance. A path agreed with your guide leaves time for the river and side slopes while keeping energy for the journey ahead.
