Route description

The complete walking circuit from Neyolovo links woodland near Pechki with the Izborsk valley and the southern Kudeb and Velikaya riversides. In Izborsk it approaches the Slovenskie Springs and enters the stone fortress grounds, giving the long walk a distinct historical pause. Forest passages, lakeside sections and riverbanks then take over again. Completing the return depends on crossing conditions and accommodation arranged beforehand. Near Vybuty, a choice separates closing the circuit across the Velikaya from finishing towards Cheryokha. A diversion changes the programme, so decide on viable alternatives before setting out.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Check levels and crossing conditions on the Kudeb and Velikaya. The operator specifically warns that the Kudeb ford can become impassable during spring. Avoid unfamiliar or swollen flowing water; choose a safe permitted diversion or shorter programme beforehand. Vegetation and fallen trees affect the Kudeb’s left bank. Stay on paths and avoid fires in the Izborsk valley; follow tickets and visitor rules inside museum sites. Use confirmed drinking water or treat it.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a period outside flooding after checking every crossing. Spring high water requires a different programme. Summer vegetation and insects, autumn rain and shorter daylight also affect progress. Calendar dates alone cannot establish river safety.
