Route description

The Vyatichi woodland walk begins on the Yaroslavskoye Highway side and leads to wooden figures in Losiny Ostrov. The name refers to an ancient tribe, but these idols are contemporary craftwork rather than remains of an archaeological sanctuary. The national park’s memoir describes a plan to decorate the recreational forest with imagery inspired by Slavic gods and folk themes. Pause beside the idol group to examine silhouettes and carving, then find the bear sculptures. The passage uses several short woodland branches and finishes east of its beginning. Allow additional time if returning to the highway side.
