Route description

Zapytaya Pond gives this neighbourhood run in Obruchevsky a recognisable stopping point. The circuit stays in the part of Yugo-Zapadny Forest Park beside Moscow’s university district, where a break by the water can turn an ordinary training session into a small outing. Continue along the park paths at an unhurried pace and let the pond be a place to look around rather than a reason to hurry to the next junction. The Samorodinka valley adds a quieter detail to the walk. This small Moscow river is not a continuous riverside promenade: parts of its upper course have been buried or diverted, and surface water can be seasonal. Look for the shape of the valley instead of expecting a broad flowing river. The loop suits a gentle introduction to the park as well as a repeatable run. At path crossings, check your direction and share the space with people enjoying a slower walk.
