Route description

Fereastra Zmeilor draws attention as a small stone window among the Făgăraș mountains. Approaching from the Podragu side gives the arch a distinct purpose, while the intervening mountain basins reveal the shape of the high slopes. Pause at the window to examine its stone and the surrounding ridge lines before beginning the return. The programme gathers passages between the upper Podragu side and Fereastra Zmeilor, returning to the original side. It does not promise walks along every neighbouring lake shore: Podragu and Podrăgel need additional approaches. Even within this limited area, repeated descents, climbs and open traverses require confident walking. Confirm Podragu hut operation and accommodation separately.
