Route description

From Piscul Negru, the ascent begins in forest and gradually reaches the pastoral paths of Podeanu. Beside the Lespezi shepherd buildings, select the red cross carefully: the neighbouring path leads to another mountain objective. Higher up, low vegetation replaces woodland before Podeanu Saddle brings intersecting mountain directions into view. The outing reveals how an approach from a developed valley becomes a passage along an open spur. The saddle is an independent finish; a Lespezi ascent or a circuit through another valley is excluded. Decide beforehand whether to return the same way.
