Route description

The way towards Medoveyevka connects Krasnaya Polyana’s wooded outskirts with small river valleys west of the village. This extended version adds repeated passages through familiar woodland, finishing on Monashka at the Efremov Viewpoint. A memorial stone recalls the geographer and writer closely associated with studying the mountain Black Sea region. Between village edges, the Monashka, Krasnopolyanka and Medoveyevka waters shape the woodland walk. Agree the complete circuit and daily approaches with the protected-area administration before travelling: the standard Medoveyevka direction does not establish permission for every additional branch.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No By bike - Partially With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy Public transport to Krasnaya Polyana is published, but the extended circuit needs planned returns and daily logistics. The whole outing is unsuitable as an ordinary children’s walk. Pets are prohibited in the reserve. The official main direction also caters for mountain bikes; suitability of every additional passage is unconfirmed. The passport reports partial coverage.

Nearby

The archaeological site mapped as Kunitsinskaya Fortress lies on Monashka; a public museum is unconfirmed. The new fort studied by the park near the Medoveyevka–Krasnopolyanka confluence is a separate site, whose visit by this version is unestablished. Their shared fortress description does not make them the same monument.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The reserve publishes public transport arrival in Krasnaya Polyana and an approach to the Beshenka bridge where Zapovednaya and Achishkhovskaya streets meet. A regular service from every western woodland endpoint or Medoveyevka is unconfirmed. Arrange daily delivery and returns beforehand.
By car
The official lower landmark is the Beshenka bridge by Zapovednaya and Achishkhovskaya streets, followed by a walk to Kulakovka. Permitted private vehicle passage along all western woodland branches is unconfirmed. Arrange delivery to agreed daily entrances rather than driving into the forest independently.
Parking
The official page lists vehicle parking before the Beshenka at the lower eastern approach. Confirm current conditions and availability beforehand. Parking directly at western woodland sites or the viewpoint is unconfirmed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 4042 м.
SurfaceDirt 9%, Asphalt 4%, Gravel 3%, Unknown 84%.
Риски River crossings may become hazardous after heavy rain; an old description of footbridges does not establish today’s water conditions. Follow the agreed itinerary through woodland junctions and repeated sections. Respect archaeological sites and the memorial stone. Extra branches need access approval; the standard one-day passport does not authorise the entire circuit.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 22 h 20 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan 3 days for the complete extended version, dividing woodland passages into day outings with village overnight stays and prearranged delivery. Day 1 — eastern approach and the first part towards Medoveyevka. Day 2 — approved western passages and returns through river valleys. Day 3 — remaining woodland sections, finishing at the Efremov Viewpoint on Monashka. Expect roughly five to eight hours of walking daily, reviewing precise entrances with a guide. Unauthorised forest camps are excluded. The reserve publishes one day for its standard direction; that time does not cover the extended repeated circuit.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry, snow-free conditions with the full selected itinerary approved. The operator generally describes May–October and a longer season for the lower viewpoint, with exact openings published separately. An official bulletin confirms that the main direction opened on 12 June 2026; this does not establish permission for every extra branch or conditions on a particular day. Check rivers and bridges particularly after heavy rain.

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy footwear and trekking poles.
Water, daily food and water treatment.
Rain protection, warm clothing and torch.
