Route description

Confirm the full mountain circuit and overnight stays with the reserve first: early in the 2026 season it allowed only a day outing to Zerkalnoye. The Achipse waterfalls, known as Brothers, frame this extended Achishkho outing. From their side, the path crosses Achishkho’s Eastern Shoulder, descends towards the Beshenka and then climbs again through Kruglaya Meadow towards Zerkalnoye Lake. Moon Stone and the old weather-station remains add recognisable stops on the wooded section. The finish returns to the Achipse headwaters through Ostry Saddle. Agree the whole itinerary in advance: the official waterfall outing and additional mountain branches have separate conditions. Once approved, this circuit brings together Achishkho’s river woodland, quiet lake and waterfall slopes.

Nearby

Achishkho’s main summit and other eastern summits are not included merely because the Eastern Shoulder is visited. Khmelevsky Lakes lie on a different lower approach. The Krasnaya Polyana dolmens stand beside a neighbouring path and require their own permitted visit.

Риски The Eastern Shoulder and Ostry mountain branches need separate approval and assessment of slope conditions. Do not follow a summer itinerary on snow, ice or in fog without suitable experience. Lower down, wet stones and high Beshenka water are hazards. Swimming is prohibited; camp only where your permit allows. The 6 October 2026 bulletin reports overnight frost and wet snow, without establishing conditions for your visit.

Plan 4 days for the complete version with lower approaches, subject to approved mountain branches and overnight stays. Day 1 — ascend from Rybino to an authorised overnight stop at Zerkalnoye. Day 2 — approach Brothers, cross the approved Eastern Shoulder branch and descend towards the lower Beshenka, staying in the village. Day 3 — climb through Kruglaya Meadow to Zerkalnoye, follow the approved Ostry branch to the waterfalls and return to the permitted campsite. Day 4 — descend to the village. This is an editorial division of the extended circuit, not a guaranteed organised programme; review each day with a guide and current authorisation. Choose the standard official waterfall outing if additional branches are not allowed.

Best time to go

The official passport generally gives June–October, with exact dates governed by orders and snow conditions. Stable summer weather after the paths clear is preferable for the extra mountain sections. Frost and wet snow were already reported in October 2026; a season opening does not establish snow-free passage across every saddle.
