Route description

Orekhovo has a long association with ski outings from Saint Petersburg. This selected sporting loop leaves the northern woodland side, turns through conifer country at junctions and returns near its entrance. Two bridge crossings on neighbouring approaches add variety to the compact winter outing. Enjoy a skiing day among trees: rises, turns and changing sections provide movement and opportunities for a quiet pause. Confident ski control and a pace suited to snow conditions are necessary. Distant lakes, the longer Ski Arrow and other circuits are independent options. Before travelling, establish which directions are open and prepared. Orekhovo’s winter layout has changed, and some sporting sections have designated travel directions. Follow current arrows and organiser guidance, agreeing this selected combination with open circuits. Plan a clear return while avoiding travel against other skiers.
