Route description

Klimovsk’s Red Circuit offers a longer woodland ski outing that approaches the small Petritsa valley on its northern side. It returns to the starting area, letting you devote the day to skiing without a distant traverse to another station. Slow down near the river side to examine the winter woodland while staying on the permitted passage. The Red Circuit follows its own forest bends and differs from the short Green Circuit. This is the local ski option’s name; assess conditions through snow, bends and your confidence on skis. Check the approach from Klimovsk and current course preparation before travelling, and bring your own equipment.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Combine woodland skiing with an actual encounter with the Petritsa on the northern side. This option provides more continuation between the trees than the neighbouring Green Circuit and returns to a familiar woodland area. Choose it for an independent winter outing with a small-river-valley pause.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Arrive at Vesennyaya railway stop on the Kursk direction and separately plan a permitted approach to the northern woodland circuits. The railway stop is away from the start. Establish an accessible entrance, selected trains and return; older brief ski-club directions do not replace a current approach plan.
By car
Arrange a drop-off on an accessible road side of Klimovsk and use a permitted woodland approach to the start. Direct vehicle access to the circuit is unconfirmed. Private and allotment entrances require the owner’s conditions; agree a roadside collection beforehand.
Parking
Parking at the start is unconfirmed. Check a permitted place and vehicle storage duration separately. Keep woodland entrances, local approaches and snow-clearing space clear.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 91 м.
SurfaceImproved surface 14%, Unknown 86%.
Риски Choose speed on forest bends according to actual snow and visibility. Thaw can leave ice, while thin cover exposes roots. Check junctions to avoid switching to the Green Circuit or another continuation. Stay on the permitted passage near the Petritsa; ice does not provide a shortcut. Pause beside the path of moving skiers.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 54 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow separate time for the town approach, one skiing outing and the return to transport. No verified complete duration exists. Retain daylight and warm clothing for the Petritsa pause. Add a repeat only after assessing snow and remaining energy; evening lighting is unconfirmed.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a winter day with enough settled snow and an established preparation plan. Check availability for classic and skating technique before travelling. Assess icy bends following thaw. A summer walk through the same woods needs separate checks of surface and permitted use.
