Route description

This northern loop on Klimovsk’s western woodland side is intended for independent skating technique. It begins at a forest junction, returns there and offers a short training outing between the trees. Its southern section passes a place marked as the local skiing start and finish, useful when becoming familiar with the path network. The loop has its own northern continuation. It should not be replaced by the southwestern circuit from the same woodland area or identified solely through other options’ Red and Green names. Establish current skating-surface conditions and a permitted approach before choosing pace and repeats.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Try compact skating practice on the western side of Klimovsk’s woodland. Returning to the same junction helps structure an independent session: first learn the bends and assess snow, then decide whether another lap is worthwhile. The northern continuation makes this a distinct choice among neighbouring ski loops.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Plan railway arrival in Klimovsk through Vesennyaya railway stop on the Kursk direction. Reaching the western woodland lap requires a separate permitted approach or local transfer. Establish the precise entrance and return beforehand. Travel from the train is outside the ski circuit; historic club timing is not current guidance.
By car
Arrange an accessible drop-off near the western woodland side, followed by a separate approach to the northern starting junction. Vehicle entry onto the skiing passage is unconfirmed. Private land and allotment entrances require permission; plan collection on an accessible road.
Parking
Parking at the start is unconfirmed. Choose a permitted place and establish its conditions before travelling. Keep woodland roads and entrances needed by residents and snow clearing clear.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 29 м.
SurfaceImproved surface 19%, Unknown 81%.
Риски Skating needs suitable width and snow preparation. Assess grip and braking after thaw before accelerating. Follow the selected northern lap at junctions, as neighbouring continuations can lead farther than intended. Watch for other skiers beside the marked start-finish area and move aside for pauses. Thin snow can expose roots.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 34 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow separate time for arrival and approach, a familiarisation lap and the woodland return. No verified complete duration exists. Begin calmly and assess repeats according to snow and remaining daylight. A heated base and evening lighting are unconfirmed, so avoid postponing the finish until darkness.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose winter weather with adequate snow cover and confirmed skating preparation. Loose fresh snow or an icy crust can substantially change skiing. Check conditions separately after thaw. A snow-free outing needs its own path and permitted-use checks.
