At Vladimir Sukachev’s estate park, Irkutsk reveals itself through the story of a collector who gathered paintings and created a green setting around his home. Step away from the city street into the alleys, look at museum buildings from outside and notice how the landscape park unites the estate. An unhurried visit works best: the paths offer turns and short branches rather than a compulsory sequence of stops. The outing explores the park side of a mayor and patron’s estate, whose collection became the basis of the Irkutsk Art Museum. Museum explanations can add interest to the plants without turning an unidentified tree into an invented rare species or memorial. The main house is currently under repair, planned through the end of 2026, and its interior is unavailable.
