Route description

Davydov Circuit brings out the contrast between two sides of the Torgashinsky Ridge. From the lower forest junction, this direction first heads east and climbs toward the ridge. The path gradually opens above the Bazaikha, and the Davydov viewpoint offers a reason to pause over a broad landscape: wooded gullies lead from the valley into the hills, with Black Hill and Abatak visible farther away. Take time here to see how the rock formations fit into the surrounding slopes before returning to woodland. The journey continues toward the upper circuit before returning to the lower junction through the wooded side of Davydov Gully. Attention shifts from distant mountains to the immediate terrain: a sustained slope, woodland bends and wet sections. The organiser warns of streams and a reach requiring passage through water, so establish its condition before setting out. A separate approach usually joins the circuit from Health Trail, changing the order of encounters. Whichever entry you use, this is an outing for confident woodland ridge walking. The open ridge and enclosed gully complement each other, while the return to city transport requires its own time.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
To see the Torgashinsky Ridge at two scales: first the Bazaikha valley panorama, distant hills and wooded gullies, then the immediate forest terrain of Davydov Gully. The viewpoint gives the ascent a clear purpose, while the other side provides a varied return. Choose it for a substantial walking day combining ridge and forest, with the external approach prepared and water conditions checked.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Poor A long independent approach remains from city transport, with time and strength needed for the return. Ridge passage, sustained descents and wet sections require confident walking and suitable footwear. With children, consider mountain-walking experience and readiness to turn back at water. Dog conditions are unconfirmed. Complete cycling and stroller passage are unestablished. The organiser reports reception only nearer the city, so prepare for independent woodland navigation.

Nearby

Torgashinskaya and Barsuchya caves are mentioned near the external approaches and are outside this woodland circuit. Light Grotto and Stoglavye Rocks also require independent branches. Fan Rocks, Needle Rocks, Black Hill and Abatak are distant panorama references; this outing does not approach their summits. The Bazaikha lies near the lower side, but the circuit establishes neither a river crossing nor a walk on its ice.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The organiser suggests arrival at the city stop Nash Dvor, meaning Our Yard, on buses 6, 8, 10 or 55. A separate approach follows through allotments along Speleologists Trail to Health Trail and then the upper circuit. These buses do not serve the lower woodland junction where the described direction starts. When arriving from above, join the circuit there after choosing a direction. Check the present service, passage through the allotments and the return to the stop beforehand.
By car
The organiser describes vehicle arrival at the city end of Speleologists Trail. A separate walking approach across the ridge remains to Davydov Circuit. Check permitted drop-off, gates and the present road beforehand. Vehicle access to the lower woodland junction is unconfirmed; mapped forest roads do not establish that right. Do not assume driving through the gully can shorten the walking section.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Before travelling, ask whether vehicle storage is permitted on the city side for the approach and complete circuit. Information about facilities and storage conditions needs separate confirmation. Agree storage separately and keep private entrances and woodland passage clear.

What to expect

Places
Davydov Circuit Viewpoint the ridge position overlooking the Bazaikha valley, wooded Voyla gullies and distant mountains. Black Hill and Abatak can be distinguished in good weather.
Davydov Gully the wooded circuit side connecting the upper section with the lower junction. Its terrain and the change from open ridge to enclosed forest form an important part of the outing.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 247 м.
SurfaceDirt 100%.
Риски The path is narrow in places, descents are sustained and climbs require a measured pace. Choose stable footing on the ridge and loose surfaces, staying away from rock edges. The organiser warns of streams and a wet passage: establish present conditions beforehand and stop if the flow is unsafe. Rain complicates the lower woodland section; deep winter snow makes climbing harder. With weak reception, do not depend on loading a map in the forest. Include the external bus approach and return when assessing the complete outing.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 2–3 hours
With stops | Unestablished The organiser gives this guide for the woodland circuit itself with suitable preparation. Add the walk from the city stop or drop-off to Health Trail, viewpoint pauses and the return to transport separately. Expanded city outings have combined Davydov Circuit with other paths for a substantially longer day; their schedule does not describe this circuit alone. Water, wet ground and deep snow require more reserve. Prepare the return beforehand and retain daylight for the woodland approach.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
For a first visit, choose a dry snow-free day allowing calm passage through the wet lower section and distant ridge views. Check streams especially carefully in spring and after prolonged rain. The organiser warns of ticks in the warm season. Wet autumn ground and early dusk constrain a long outing; winter snow and ice need a separate assessment of the entire circuit. Walking on a frozen Bazaikha is outside this pedestrian plan.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Footwear with grip for steep ground, woodland clothing, wind and rain protection.
Drinking water and food for the complete day including external approaches; streams are not established drinking-water sources.
A junction map and compass, headlamp, charged phone and backup power.
First-aid supplies, seasonal tick protection and a bag for all waste.
After checking the wet section, prepare protection for belongings and spare dry clothing. Ordinary walking equipment does not make an unsafe current passable.
