Route description

Bolgash Canyon reveals the Torgashinsky Ridge from within its rocky gullies. From the lower start, the path immediately enters the narrow gorge between the Top and Magda slopes. Examine the close rock walls, then notice how climbing opens the wooded valley toward the upper circuit. The terrain itself is the attraction: steep slopes, rocky outcrops and movement between different woodland levels. The upper section passes Vasilisa Pine, a particular named tree beside the path where you can pause attentively without damaging roots. The western woodland return leads back into the gully. After the main loop, a short lower branch reaches Damp Hollow before returning along the same path; retain it in your assessment of effort. Check present stream conditions beforehand. Choose this circuit for a substantial walk through rocky terrain without climbing neighbouring summits. It requires confident movement on steep woodland slopes. Peshchanaya Cave lies on a separate branch, while neither the Bazaikha nor the Yenisei forms a riverside section here. Prepare the city approach independently.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
For the narrow Bolgash gorge and Vasilisa Pine joined by a woodland circuit. Study the lower gully’s rock walls at close quarters, then give the upper section its own memorable stop at the named pine. It particularly suits walkers interested in terrain: climb out of a confined valley, cross wooded high ground and descend to the stream setting again.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy City transport requires a separate substantial approach to the woodland circuit. This is for a prepared walker: steep slopes and sections without a clear path are unsuitable for an ordinary young-child outing, stroller or bicycle. Dog conditions are unconfirmed. The organiser reports only partial reception; do not rely on a phone everywhere.

Nearby

Peshchanaya Cave has a separate Canyon branch outside the main circuit. Luiza, Krest and Pokhodny Grotto also need independently checked approaches; a nearby map name does not promise an entrance or summit visit. Magda’s rocks and historic mountaineers’ shelters lie outside this loop. The hut there is recorded as ruined and is not overnight accommodation. The panoramic Top Trail is another independent outing.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The organiser describes arrival at Rembyttekhnika on Zatonskaya Street, followed by an allotment-side approach along Skvoznaya Trail and Health Trail to the upper Canyon junction. Check the present bus and permitted forest access beforehand; an old last-departure time is not a current timetable. This version begins in the lower gully. Prepare that approach, its link to the upper entrance and the return separately: buses do not reach the lower woodland junction.
By car
Drop-off serves the city-side entrance to Skvoznaya Trail, leaving a woodland approach to Canyon. Check permitted drop-off, road conditions and allotment passage beforehand. A direct visitor drive to the lower circuit start is unconfirmed. Agree the return meeting with allowance for the external pedestrian journey rather than only the woodland loop.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. The organiser reports no equipped facilities at the external Skvoznaya start. Ask whether a car can remain for the complete outing and establish who controls the chosen land. Reaching the lower woodland beginning still requires a pedestrian approach; keep private entrances and passageways clear.

What to expect

Places
Bolgash Canyon the narrow rocky gorge between the Top and Magda slopes on the lower circuit.
Vasilisa Pine the named tree beside the upper woodland path.
Damp Hollow Stream the watercourse on the short lower branch, followed by the same-path return.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 232 м.
SurfaceDirt 53%, Dirt / grass 11%, Unknown 36%.
Риски The organiser describes a demanding route with steep changes of level and sections without a clear path. Choose footholds carefully in the rocky gully and avoid unstable edges. Rain, snowfall or frost can make a previous pace unsuitable. Only descend toward the stream after checking current water and ground conditions; a sound bridge or safe ford is unconfirmed. Include the lower return branch in the complete plan, together with the ascent toward the city.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 1.5–2 hours
With stops | Unestablished The organiser gives this allowance for a prepared walker completing the woodland circuit, depending on pace. It excludes the complete city outing: allow separately for Skvoznaya and Health Trail or another agreed approach, the stop connection and pauses at the gorge and Vasilisa. Reassess the plan on wet or snowy slopes. An additional Peshchanaya Cave visit is outside this allowance.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry snow-free conditions that allow careful assessment of earth and rock. Tick protection is needed in the warm season. Autumn leaves hide uneven ground, while shorter days require a city-approach reserve. The organiser warns of deep winter snow and difficult passage. A snowy or icy gorge needs a separate decision rather than being an ordinary continuation of a summer walk.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy footwear for steep woodland, rainwear and a spare warm layer.
Water and food for the circuit and its external approach; a spring beside the path is not an established drinking-water supply.
A map of Skvoznaya, Health and Bolgash junctions, compass, headlamp and phone backup power.
First-aid supplies and seasonal tick protection.
Spare daylight for the lower return branch and the city connection.
