Route description

Karst Trail leads from Krasnoyarsk’s allotment outskirts into a forest circuit on the Torgashinsky Ridge. After a short northern approach, the walk changes character: sustained climbs alternate with descents, while dense woodland sometimes demands closer attention to the waymarks. It has the rhythm of a proper hike — follow the shaded side, climb again and gradually return to a familiar junction. The name recalls the surrounding cave country, but choose this walk for its forest circuit. Nearby summits and caves require separate outings. Karst suits walkers who want several hours among the folds of the Torgashinsky Ridge and are ready for the climbs.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Consider this for children already comfortable with sustained forest hikes and climbs; adults should assess the entire effort first. Steep woodland sides are unsuitable for strollers. Cycle suitability and dog rules are unconfirmed. The organiser warns that reception is almost absent.

Nearby

The organiser identifies nearby Lisya, Stels, Torgashinskaya and Vodorazdelnaya caves, along with Triga, Zver and Karst hills. Proximity does not mean that the walk reaches their entrances or summits. Vodorazdelnaya’s published page explicitly states that the cave is closed for unrestricted access. Underground outings require separate planning, suitable skills and verified conditions. Rest areas are described on the woodland side, but the present state of tables, fire permission, drinking water and toilets is unconfirmed.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The organiser identifies Poligon bus stop and services 27, 40, 40a and 40s. A separate walk through the allotment side leads to the trail. The stop lies north of the forest circuit, so include the approach and return. Before travelling, establish current service operation, the return boarding point and the permitted passage through the allotment area.
By car
The organiser describes arrival by car at the starting side near Poligon bus stop. Select a permitted drop-off point and establish current access on the allotment side beforehand. The forest circuit is followed on foot; vehicle passage along its paths is unconfirmed. Arrange the return to the same approach.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Establish a lawful place for the car on the selected arrival side before setting out.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 360 м.
SurfaceDirt 85%, Gravel 4%, Unknown 12%.
Риски Steep descents and sustained climbs require reserve energy. The later woodland passage can be unclear, so follow waymarks and check the saved map at junctions. After rain, take care on slippery ground; in winter, allow for ice. Branching towards caves or summits creates a different outing and does not replace a return along familiar paths.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h 8 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The organiser gives roughly 2.5–3 hours for Karst Trail with suitable fitness. Add the walk from the stop or drop-off, rests, navigation pauses and the return. Identify the circuit junction on the northern approach, then choose a pace you can maintain uphill. Do not add a cave descent to this plan. Reserve daylight matters more than exploring every branch.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry weather and a clearly visible woodland passage for a first visit. The organiser particularly warns about ticks in summer. Autumn dampness and fallen leaves require careful footing. Winter ice changes the descents; establish surface and waymark conditions beforehand. Consider strong wind, thunderstorms and early dusk when selecting a day.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy footwear suitable for climbs and descents.
Closed clothing and tick protection in the warmer season.
Drinking water and snacks for the entire outing.
A saved map, charged phone and reserve power: reception is unreliable.
Forecast-appropriate rain and wind layers, a personal first-aid kit and a litter bag.
